Hajny allegedly observed the victim “fall in their shared home and observed he was unable to get up or care for himself” for approximately five days from Sept. 20-25, 2025, “but did not provide aid or contact emergency medical services.” Her failure to do so reportedly caused the victim’s health to be endangered or deteriorate.

The victim’s obituary states they were 61 years old and died at their residence on Sept. 26, 2025, just one day after the alleged five-day period of abusive neglect.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office presented the case against Hajny, who was ordered released from custody pending trial.

All individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
