EHS Grad Chloe Koons Is Varsity Player: SIUE Tennis Claims OVC Team Academic Award

The former Edwardsville High All-State singles player was part of a Cougars roster honored for its unanimous achievement of the conference GPA threshold.

EDWARDSVILLE – Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville (SIUE) tennis shared the Ohio Valley Conference Team Academic Award as announced today by the OVC.

SIUE, the 2026 OVC Champs, boasted 100 percent (10/10) of its student-athletes earning at least a 3.25 GPA. The Cougars shared the award with Lindenwood, Southeast Missouri, Tennessee State and Western Illinois.

Edwardsville High grad Chloe Koons is a varsity player for SIUE. Koons finished with a 14-6 overall record in 2025. She is now a senior for SIUE. She was a three-time All-State singles player for EHS. She is third, left to right, in photo above.

The OVC Team Academic Achievement Awards, which are presented annually in each Conference-sponsored sport to the member institution's team with the greatest percentage of its eligible student-athletes who achieved a 3.25 grade point average or higher, were awarded in 17 sports.
