ST. LOUIS COUNTY — Michael Belleville, 51, of the 900 block of Regina Avenue in St. Louis, was charged Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025, with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and resisting arrest in connection with a fatal crash that occurred on June 26, 2025.
According to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Belleville was driving a 2010 gold Nissan Altima northbound on South Broadway Avenue early that morning when he turned into a convenience store parking lot and collided with a southbound motorcyclist. The victim sustained serious injuries and later died at the hospital.
Belleville fled the scene, abandoning his vehicle after it broke down a short distance away. Officers found the car with deployed airbags and blood on the airbag, which DNA testing matched to Belleville.
On Nov. 7, 2025, law enforcement attempted to locate Belleville at his last known address. The homeowner consented to a canine search, which led to his discovery hiding in the basement.
Belleville was aware of several felony warrants for failure to appear and parole violations at the time of his arrest, according to the probable cause statement.
He is being held on a $250,000 cash-only bond. The St. Louis County Police Department Bureau of Crimes Against Persons is investigating the case.
Charges are accusations, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
