Public Works Director Scott Slemer said village officials decided to leave out certain projects during the final design of the 2026 Street Program due to budgetary concerns at the time. Four streets were previously removed from the project, and the originally planned Village Circle Drive width of 24 feet had been reduced to 22 feet.

Slemer said the bids received for the village’s 2026 Street Program came in significantly lower than anticipated, allowing them to add on these projects and more.

In addition to the expansion of Village Circle Drive to 24 feet in width, the program now includes a median replacement project on Village Drive and improvements to Paddock Lane, Carriage Lane, Saddlewood Lane, and Singletree Lane.

The additional $163,891.10 for this work brings the total amount for the 2026 Street Program from $884,899.06 to $1,048,790.16. This total remains under budget, as the village budgeted $1,150,000 for the 2026 Street Program.
