Gov. Rauner issues statement after winning Republican nomination once again

CHICAGO - Governor Rauner released the following statement tonight after winning the Republican nomination to take on JB Pritzker in the general election:

“This primary election was hard fought. I am honored and humbled by this victory because you have given me the chance to win the battle against the corruption that plagues Illinois. I want to congratulate my opponent Jeanne Ives on her campaign.

"The election in November will be a choice between someone who will stand up to the machine and someone who has long been a part of it.
