Granite City Community Urged to Rally for Army Firefighter Reserve Unit Deployment Sendoff
Residents are being asked to line the route at River’s Edge in Granite City on Sept. 14 to support the unit as it begins a nine-month deployment.
GRANITE CITY - The Army Firefighter Reserve Unit in Granite City is scheduled to leave River’s Edge, 1230 Seventh St., at 1 p.m. Sept. 14, 2026, to begin a nine-month deployment, with several local fire departments expected to attend in support.
The public is being invited to line the route as the firefighters and soldiers depart, wave flags, shake hands and show support for the men and women leaving their families, homes and community to serve the country.
