IDOT Announces Weekend Closure Of Northbound/Eastbound I-55/70

EAST ST. LOUIS – The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that bridge repairs will require a weekend closure of northbound/eastbound Interstate 55/70 between the I-64 and I-255 interchanges in St. Clair County starting, weather permitting, at 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13.

A posted detour will be in place to direct motorists to I-64 and I-255. The work is expected to be complete by 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 17.

Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and all detour signs prior to the work zone, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
