Illinois State Police Charge Missouri Men With Weapon Offenses In Madison County
Hazelwood man and three St. Louis residents accused of illegal weapon possession and more in separate Madison County cases.
EDWARDSVILLE – Four men from Missouri face felony charges for unlawful weapon possession and other offenses allegedly committed in Madison County.
Micole A. Tankins, 30, of St. Louis, was charged in another separate case from Nov. 6, 2025 with one count each of armed violence (a Class X felony), possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance (a Class 1 felony), posession of fcontraband in a penal institution (a Class 1 felony) and aggravated unlawful possession of weapons (a Class 4 felony).

Tankins allegedly possessed a Beretta APX 9mm handgun, which was uncased, loaded, and immediately accessible at the time of the offense on Aug. 13, 2025. He was reportedly armed with a firearm while possessing multiple bags of cocaine with the intent to deliver, totaling approximately 7 grams.
The Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office filed a petition to deny pretrial release from custody for Tankins. According to the petition, Tankins was identified as the passenger on a traffic stop and found to have an active warrant before he was arrested and officers seized a firearm from his person.
“He denied having any drugs on him and was taken to jail,” the petition states. “While there, officers located multiple baggies of cocaine concealed on his body. Lab analysis showed it to be approximately 7 grams of cocaine, individually packaged for sale.”
Derrie S. Williams, 62, of Hazelwood, Mo., was separately charged on Nov. 6, 2025, with a Class 3 felony count of felon in possession of a weapon. He reportedly possessed a Smith & Wesson .38 Special revolver on Sept. 2, 2025, which was unlawful for him to possess as a felon previously convicted of a felony drug violation in the 21st Circuit Court of Clayton, Mo.
Antonio T. Johnson, 29, of St. Louis, was charged in another separate case on Nov. 6, 2025, with one count each of unlawful possession of a stolen firearm (a Class 2 felony) and aggravated unlawful possession of weapons (a Class 4 felony). Johnson was reportedly found carrying a Glock 45 9mm handgun in a motor vehicle on Aug. 13, 202,5 which he allegedly knew had been stolen.
Another St. Louis resident, 22-year-old Justin R. Holland, was charged on Nov. 3, 2025 with one count each of unlawful use of weapons – possession of a machine gun (a Class X felony), aggravated unlawful possession of weapons (a Class 4 felony), and unlawful possession of cannabis (a Class 4 felony).
Holland allegedly possessed a Clock 22 .40 caliber handgun, which had been modified with a switch to make the weapon fire automatically on Nov. 1, 2025. He reportedly possessed the weapon in the passenger compartment of a motor vehicle while in possession of over 100 grams of cannabis.
The Illinois State Police presented each of the cases against Tankins, Williams, Johnson and Holland. Tankins was ordered remanded to jail for his initial court appearance, while Williams, Johnson and Holland were ordered released from custody pending trial.
All individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
