Jerseyville Library Fundraisers Aim To Boost Materials
The Friends group is turning fall traditions into funding for books, resources and programs that serve patrons throughout the Jerseyville community.
JERSEYVILLE - The Friends of the Jerseyville Public Library is holding two fall fundraisers in Jerseyville, including an afghan basket raffle ending Oct. 21, 2026, and a book sale Oct. 8-10, 2026, to raise money for library materials and programming.
Raffle tickets are available at the Jerseyville Public Library or from Friends members. Tickets cost $1 each or six for $5, with sales continuing until the drawing at 5 p.m. Oct. 21.

The basket features a hand-knit, chunky chenille afghan crafted and donated by Jerseyville Public Library staff member Chelsea McKee. It also includes a $50 gift certificate for Greene Fields Farm in Carrollton, Illinois; a $25 gift certificate for Sinclairs Food Market in Jerseyville; fall home decorations; and homemade pumpkin bars.
The Friends fall book sale is scheduled for Oct. 8-10. The preview day will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, with a $2 entry fee. Admission will be free Friday and Saturday.
Friday hours are 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday’s “buy”-the-bag sale will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., with provided bags available to fill for $3 per bag.
The Friends said donations have doubled since the spring sale. Proceeds from Friends fundraising activities are used to purchase materials and assist with programming at the Jerseyville Public Library.
