Kevin Robinson Named CUSD 10 Assistant Superintendent Beginning July 2026
Set for July 2026, the new assistant superintendent role sees longtime educator Robinson enhancing district operations and student services.
COLLINSVILLE – The Collinsville Community Unit School District #10 Board of Education appointed Human Resources Director Kevin E. Robinson to become assistant superintendent beginning July 1, 2026.
Robinson’s new duties will be in addition to his human resources responsibilities. The assistant superintendent role will be vacant at the end of the 2025-26 school year due to the retirement of the current assistant superintendent and student services director, Bradley Hyre.

Robinson is enthusiastic about his expanded duties and looks forward to working to continue to strengthen and improve the district’s educational programs and facilities. “Mr. Robinson embodies what it means to bleed purple,” said Superintendent Dr. Mark B. Skertich, “He loves Unit #10, our students and our staff. He strives to improve our district on a daily basis and will thrive in his additional responsibilities in the years ahead.”
The 2026-27 school year will mark Robinson’s 22nd year as an educator. The entirety of his career has been in CUSD 10, and he is a lifelong Kahok. “I've attended Collinsville schools my whole life; from a student who was in the Head Start program through graduating as a very proud Kahok,” says Robinson. He is a proud Kreitner Elementary, North Junior High School and Collinsville High School alumnus.
Prior to becoming human resources director in 2017, Robinson served as principal of Caseyville and Jefferson Elementary Schools, a fifth-grade teacher at Dorris Intermediate School and a Collinsville High School basketball coach.
Robinson holds a Bachelor of Science in elementary education, a Master of Science in educational administration and an education specialist degree in superintendency, all from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
As a district administrator, Robinson believes our educational system is at its strongest when it is built on equity, inclusion and respect from a diverse group of stakeholders.
“The diversity our district offers strengthens our schools, enriches learning and prepares our students to be successful after they leave our district,” he believes, “It is my goal to make sure that every student regardless of their background has access to high-quality instruction and supportive relationships to help them build a strong educational foundation.” Outside of work hours, you are likely to find Robinson attending district events.
“I absolutely love supporting our student organizations,” he says, "Whether it's our students on athletic teams, students in our fine arts programs, or student clubs/organizations, I make it a priority to be there to support them.” Robinson also enjoys spending time with family and friends. “Everyone needs a support system around them for the various things that we face in life, and I am lucky to have a close and supportive group around me,” he says.
“I am very excited about the direction of our school district and watching everything that our students and staff members are accomplishing. We have many amazing facilities projects that are improving learning and working environments,” adds Robinson, “ I love wearing my purple (especially on Fridays) and showing my Kahok Pride!”
Collinsville Community Unit School District #10 comprises 12 schools, serving 6,000 students PreK-12 in Madison & St. Clair Counties in southwestern Illinois.
