Man Held In Jersey County Jail On Drug Charges
Deputy Justin Decker’s K9 unit stopped a red minivan, resulting in drug-related charges against one individual among four passengers.
JERSEY COUNTY — Just after 11 p.m. on Dec. 3, 2025, the Jersey County Sheriff’s Office K9 Deputy Justin Decker stopped a red minivan on South State Street in Jerseyville, leading to an arrest on drug charges.

Four individuals were inside the van at the time of the stop, according to the Jersey County Sheriff’s Office. The sheriff and officers from the Jerseyville Police Department assisted with the traffic stop.
Albert A. Pace II, 61, was arrested after drug paraphernalia was found on his person. Following his arrest, Pace was transported to the Jersey County Jail, where authorities discovered a quantity of suspected crystal methamphetamine concealed on him.
Jersey County State’s Attorney Ben Goetten has charged Pace with unlawful possession with intent to deliver 15 to 100 grams of methamphetamine, a Class X felony. The charge carries a potential prison sentence ranging from six to 30 years if Pace is convicted.
Pace remains detained at the Jersey County Jail. He is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
