ALTON - Alton Mayor David Goins has proclaimed Wednesday, June 10, 2026, as "Rayna Raglin Day" in Alton, recognizing the recent state track achievements of the Alton athlete who won the 100- and 200-meter races at the IHSA Class 3A Girls State Track and Field Meet.
"I am very proud of it," Mayor Goins said. "These are historic achievements she has done representing our high school and the City of Alton."

Raglin won the 100 meters in 11.87 seconds and the 200 meters in 23.41 seconds at the state meet. She also placed eighth in the 400 meters in 57.06.
"She won both the 100 and 200-meter races and she broke records when she won," Goins said.
Goins said the recognition reflects the city's effort to honor notable athletic accomplishments.
"The city and the high school both feel the same way about Rayna's accomplishments," Mayor Goins said. "We recognized the girls' basketball team after their performance at state in front of the city council. The girls deserved that recognition, and so does Rayna. She has already left a legacy here in Alton and at the high school."
Raglin is set to join the women's track and field team at South Florida State University this fall for the Panthers.
