McGivney Gets Goals From Dettmers, Etcheson, Isringhausen, Ellis Keeps Clean Sheet, Griffins Win Over CM

GLEN CARBON - Harper Dettmers, Hayden Etcheson, and Emerson Isringhausen all found the back of the net, while Peyton Ellis made four saves in goal as she and Addison Ronk shared the clean sheet as Father McGivney Catholic won its eighth match on the trot in taking a 3-0 win over Civic Memorial in a girls soccer game played Wednesday evening, April 15, 2026, at McGivney.

Dettmers connected for her second goal of the season, while Etcheson hit for her third goal of 2026, and Isringhausen scored her fifth goal of the year. Ellis has now made 47 saves this season, while Ronk has only made one save in goal.

The Griffins are now 10-1-0 on the season, and have played excellent soccer all spring long under first-year head coach Jason Turkington, a former player for O'Fallon and SIU-Edwardsville, and also a former boys coach at O'Fallon.

Bryleigh Marshall had six saves in goal for the Eagles, who are now 4-6-1, and next play at home Friday evening against Belleville Althoff Catholic at Hauser Field in a 5:30 p.m. kickoff, then start a five-game road swing on Tuesday at Mascoutah, starting at 6 p.m., then play at Waterloo Apr. 23 at 5:30 p.m.

McGivney is now 10-1-0, and next plays at Metro-East Lutheran Thursday at 5 p.m., then goes to O'Fallon Monday at 6:30 p.m., then plays at Breese Central next Wednesday at a time to be announced.
