Miccah Butler Takes Next Step In Basketball At Maryville University In St. Louis
The 6-foot-4 forward will continue his career in St. Louis after becoming a key contributor for the Edwardsville Tigers.
EDWARDSVILLE — Miccah Butler, a 6-foot-4 small forward at Edwardsville High School, will continue his basketball career at Maryville University in St. Louis after a high school career that included 1,104 points and multiple postseason honors.
“I am excited and grateful to announce my commitment to play for Maryville University,” Butler said at the time of his announcement. “Thank you to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for giving me the opportunity.”

Butler averaged right around 15.0 points per game during his career at Edwardsville. He was also noted for his shooting ability, rebounding, and defensive efforts.
Edwardsville Athletic Director Amy Bosolo said Butler was central to one of the program’s most successful stretches.
“Miccah Butler has been a key part of one of the most successful stretches in program history,” Bosolo said. “A three-year starter, he helped lead the team to over 70 wins, along with conference and regional championships. Miccah scored over 1,000 career points and earned multiple All-Conference and All-State honors.
“Miccah's leadership extends beyond the court as an academic all-conference recipient and honor roll student. We are excited for his future at Maryville University.”
As a senior, Butler was named to the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association All-State Special Mention team and was an All-Southwestern Conference boys basketball selection.
