Minner has been cheering since she was 4 years old and credits the sport with helping her develop confidence and an outgoing personality. "I used to be a very reserved, quiet kid, but cheer made me find my confidence and voice," she said. "It has led me to become more outgoing and less nervous in front of crowds or small groups of people."
Under the guidance of coach Allison Beachum, Minner has faced mental blocks but continued to push herself to improve with each practice. She is also a member of the track and field team, competing in events including the 100, 200, 4x100, 4x400, and occasionally the 4x200 and 400-meter races.
Minner expressed gratitude for the support she has received from her family and teammates throughout her high school career.
She also highlighted her academic achievements, including four years of Gold Renaissance recognition, membership in the National Honor Society, consistent straight A’s, and participation in the Big Sisters program.
Looking ahead, Minner hopes to continue cheering in college and plans to pursue a career as an elementary school teacher.
She is optimistic about her team’s prospects this season, saying, "I wish to make it to state just one more time, and this year it is very promising for our cheer team as we have been working really hard."
