Missing Man Terry Hanson Found Safe After Pere Marquette Campground Disappearance
The Jersey County Sheriff’s Office announced the update on Wednesday, a week after Hanson was last seen at the campground, and praised conservation police.

JERSEYVILLE — A missing Missouri man last seen at Pere Marquette Campground has been found and is safe, the Jersey County Sheriff’s Office and Illinois Conservation Police announced on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2026.

Terry Hanson, 46, of Farmington, Mo., had been reported missing after he was last seen at the campground around noon on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2026. Authorities reported his disappearance Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2026.
The sheriff’s office commended the Illinois Conservation Police for efforts to locate Hanson.
“It was a job well done by the Illinois Conservation Police in the case,” the sheriff’s office said. “Thanks to the public for your help and concern.”
