JERSEY COUNTY – Jersey County authorities charged a man from Missouri this week with driving under the influence and other offenses.
James C. Robinson of Florissant, Mo., was charged on Oct. 19, 2026 with one count each of resisting a peace officer (a Class 4 felony), obstructing identification, driving while under the influence of alcohol, driving on a revoked license and transportation or possession of alcoholic liquor in a motor vehicle by a driver (each Class A misdemeanors).
Robinson allegedly drove a motor vehicle on State Highway 100, east of the Brussels Ferry in Jersey County, while under the influence of alcohol on Oct. 14, 2026. Charging documents note his driver’s license had been revoked at the time of the offense.
On the same date, Robinson is accused of resisting arrest by pulling away from a Jersey County Sheriff’s deputy and refusing to enter the deputy’s squad car, as well as refusing to identify himself to the same deputy.
The Jersey County Sheriff’s Office presented the case against Robinson, who is not currently in custody. He is scheduled for his first court appearance in this case on Nov. 10, 2026 at the Jersey County Courthouse.
All individuals charged are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
