GODFREY, Ill. — A motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries following a crash involving a motorcycle and another vehicle Thursday afternoon in Godfrey.

According to the Madison County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded at approximately 4:55 p.m. on June 11, 2026, to the area of Godfrey Road near Crestwood Drive after receiving reports of a traffic crash involving a vehicle and a motorcycle.

When first responders arrived, they found the motorcycle operator had sustained critical, life-threatening injuries.

Air medical personnel with Survival Flight were dispatched to the scene, and the injured rider was flown to a hospital in the St. Louis area for emergency treatment.

The Metro East Crash Assistance Team was called in to assist with the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision.

Authorities closed Godfrey Road in the area while investigators processed the scene and gathered evidence. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes until the roadway can be reopened.

As of Thursday evening, officials had not released information regarding the identities of those involved or the cause of the crash.

The investigation remains ongoing, and no further details were immediately available.
