Police Officer, Citizen Injured in Vehicle Crash at Earth City Expressway and Rider Trail South

ST. LOUIS - St. Louis County police are investigating a crash on Wednesday morning, Feb. 4, 2026, in Earth City that injured a police officer and a civilian driver, after an officer responding to a separate crash call struck another vehicle at an intersection, authorities said.
The crash happened about 7:41 a.m. on Feb. 4 at Earth City Expressway and Rider Trail South in St. Louis County, Mo., according St. Louis County Police. Police said a Central County Precinct officer was traveling southbound on Earth City Expressway with emergency lights and siren activated while responding to a call for service for a vehicle crash reported at 7:37 a.m. on Interstate 70 at Earth City Expressway.
Police said the officer’s vehicle struck a citizen’s vehicle that had failed to yield at the intersection.
Both drivers were taken to an area hospital, police said. The officer, an adult female, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and later released, according to the release. The driver of the citizen vehicle, also an adult female, remained hospitalized in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.
Detectives from the St. Louis County Police Department Bureau of Crimes Against Persons and Accident Reconstruction are investigating, with the Bureau of Crimes Against Persons leading the case, police said.
