Police Officer Returns Fire to Armed Suspect at Maryland Heights Walgreens
An armed confrontation at a Dorsett Road Walgreens led to a deadly police shooting with no injuries reported among officers.
MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. — A Maryland Heights police officer fatally shot a man who fired a gun at officers Sunday, Nov. 30, 2025, evening at a Walgreens on Dorsett Road, St. Louis County Police authorities said early Monday, Dec. 1, 2025.

The incident occurred around 6 p.m. on Nov. 30, 2025, at the Walgreens located in the 12500 block of Dorsett Road.
Officers from the Maryland Heights Police Department responded to a call for service and encountered an adult male armed with a gun. According to the St. Louis County Police Department, the suspect fired at the officers, prompting one officer to return fire and strike the man. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.
No officers were injured during the encounter.
The St. Louis County Police Bureau of Crimes Against Persons detectives have taken over the investigation. The officer involved is 30 years old with two and a half years of experience at the Maryland Heights Police Department, along with prior law enforcement experience.
Authorities described the investigation as active and said preliminary details could change. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
