According to police, a 19-year-old male was arrested in connection with the assault at the time, but charges against him were taken under advisement and were never issued.

Investigators said several witnesses were present during the assault but told police they did not see or hear anything.

With decades having passed, the Homicide Division said it is hopeful that someone from that time may now come forward to assist the investigation.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call the Homicide Division directly at 314-444-5371.
