Region Sees Record Early Snowfall in November
Edwardsville records 8 inches of snow; Godfrey has 6 inches in tough weather day.
ST. LOUIS — The St. Louis region experienced its first significant snowfall of the fall season on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025.

Snow fell steadily throughout much of Saturday morning, impacting communities across the Greater St. Louis Metropolitan Area. Notable snowfall totals included 8 inches in Edwardsville; 7 inches in Troy, Mo., and 6.5 inches in Creve Coeur, Mo. Other areas reported significant accumulations as well, such as Maryland Heights, Mo., with 6.3 inches and Godfrey, with 6 inches.
The National Weather Service reported that Lambert-St. Louis International Airport recorded 6.4 inches of snow, marking the fifth-largest snowfall on any November day in St. Louis history and nearly quadrupling the previous daily record for Nov. 29, which was 1.7 inches set in 1964.
The highest recorded snowfall in the region was in Bowling Green, Mo., where 9.5 inches were reported. Additional totals included 4.5 inches in Brighton and Granite City. Lower amounts were observed in Troy, Illinois, with 3.5 inches, and Belleville, with 4 inches.
This early-season snowfall set new records and highlighted the variability of weather patterns in the St. Louis area during late November.
The National Weather Service continues to monitor conditions as residents adjust to the sudden winter weather.
