GRANITE CITY - Revity Credit Union employees in Granite City raised $1,450 for the City Temple Food Pantry through the credit union’s Jeans for Generations program, with May’s donations directed to the pantry at a time when its air conditioning unit recently stopped working.

The fundraiser was part of Revity Credit Union’s ongoing Jeans for Generations program, which the credit union said reflects its philosophy of “people helping people” by allowing employees to support local organizations. Each month, employees donate to a selected charity and, in return, may wear jeans and tennis shoes on Fridays and Saturdays.

May’s contributions were dedicated to the City Temple Food Pantry, which serves the Granite City community by providing food, personal care items, prayer and comfort to individuals and families in need.

Revity employees also met Laura and Debbie from City Temple, who said the donation comes at a crucial time. According to the information provided, the pantry’s air conditioning unit, which helps keep pantry items properly cooled, recently stopped working. The donation will help the pantry complete repairs and continue serving the community safely and effectively.

The effort comes during a significant year for Revity Credit Union, which is celebrating 85 years of community service. The credit union described the milestone as “honoring the past, helping the present, and lifting the future of the communities it serves.”
