Sen. Belt Announces $4 Million Grant For New Shiloh Police Station

SWANSEA – State Senator Christopher Belt announced the release of a $4 million state grant for the Village of Shiloh to construct a new police station. The funding, previously announced as part of a $4.75 million allocation secured alongside State Representative Jay Hoffman, is now available to move the project toward a projected June or July groundbreaking.

“As Shiloh continues to grow, we have a responsibility to ensure our law enforcement officers have a facility that matches the needs of the community,” said Belt (D-Swansea). “This $4 million investment brings us significantly closer to breaking ground and delivering a modern police station that supports public safety and the men and women who protect our residents every day.”

The $4 million grant is dedicated to the construction and equipping of a new police facility that reflects the rapid growth of Shiloh, which reached a population of 14,098 in the 2020 Census. For the past 14 years, the Shiloh Police Department has operated out of a rented facility on the Wilke Window and Door property at 3498 Lebanon Ave., a space village officials say no longer meets the department’s needs.

“Senator Christopher Belt and Representative Jay Hoffman have been tremendous partners to the Village of Shiloh, and we sincerely thank them for their efforts in securing this $4 million grant,” said Mayor Bob Weilmuenster. “This funding will allow us to construct a new police facility that will serve our officers and residents for generations to come. Their support reflects a strong commitment to public safety and to our community.”
