The St. Clair Emergency Management Agency reported damage from the early Wednesday morning storm on March 11, 2026, in rural Marissa, Lenzburg, and St. Libory. National Weather Service in St. Louis Lead Meteorologist Brad Charboneaugh said the storm “ripped through that area about 4 to 5 a.m.” and that reports from St. Clair County indicated the damage was significant.

Charboneaugh said there was “substantial damage to residents' barns and outbuildings” in parts of the county.

In Lenzburg, the St. Clair County Emergency Management Agency said it had been notified by Ameren Illinois that a utility pole must be replaced because of the overnight storms, prompting a village-wide power outage.

“This work will begin later this morning and will cause a village-wide power outage,” the agency said in a statement. “They estimate the work will be complete and power restored between 8-9 this evening. Lenzburg Village officials are aware and taking appropriate actions.”
