Sievers Throws Two-Hit Shutout, Fans 10, Alton Post 126 Bounces Back With 8-0 Win Over Eureka

WASHINGTON, Mo. - One of the most impressive Alton Post 126 Senior Legion outings was last weekend, when Cam Sievers posted a sensational performance on the mound.

Doug Booten, of the Alton Senior Legion team, said Sievers' performance was one of the better of the season for the squad.

Cam Sievers.Sievers is an Illinois College pitcher and originally from Winchester. He was a baseball and basketball star at West Central High School.

Booten said both Sievers and Ryan Lowis are formidable pitchers on the mound for the Senior Legion and should really help them as playoffs soon evolve.

Sievers pitched a brilliant two-hit shutout against Eureka, Mo., striking out 10 batsmen, and it helped Alton Post 126's senior American Legion baseball team bounce back from a loss earlier in the day to take an 8-0 win. Post 177 in a tournament in Washington, Mo. in the Saturday evening, June 27, 2026, nightcap.

It was all Post 126 in the ball game on Saturday evening, scoring once in the top of the first, twice in the fourth, three times in the fifth, and twice more in the seventh to take the 8-0 win, and advance to the tournament semifinals.

Both Abe Kribs and John Kunz led the way for the Legionnaires with two hits each, while Carter Watson had a hit and three RBIs, Ryan Lowis came up with a hit and two RBIs, Hayden Schepers had a hit and RBI, and Jayce Steinkuehler also drove in a run. Sievers went all the way on the mound, allowing no runs on two hits, walking one and fanning 10 in getting credit for the win.
