SIUE Hosts Fourth Annual Future Teacher Conference Nov. 18

EDWARDSVILLE - Southern Illinois University Edwardsville's School of Education, Health and Human Behavior will welcome approximately 400 high school students for the fourth annual Future Teacher Conference, a growing regional event designed for students exploring careers in education. Attendance has grown significantly since last year’s conference, which drew 300 participants.

The conference introduces future educators to the profession through workshops, presentations, and faculty engagement, and has quickly become a signature event supporting the teacher preparation pipeline in Illinois.

Keynote speakers include:

• Victor Gomez, PhD – 2025 ISBE Teacher of the Year (morning keynote)

• Monet Webster – Principal, Abraham Lincoln Elementary School (Belleville District 118) (lunchtime keynote)
