TRENTON - Red Bud used an early surge and a five-run fourth inning to defeat Piasa Southwestern 8-0 in a regional final at Trenton Wesclin in Trenton City Park on Thursday, May 21, 2026, eliminating the Piasa Birds and sending the Musketeers to the Nashville sectional.

Red Bud scored three runs in the first inning and added five more in the fourth in the shutout win.

Vivian Zurheide had the only hit of the game for Southwestern, while Hannah Mary went the distance in the circle and struck out four.

With the win, the Musketeers improved to 28-8 and advanced to the sectional round. Red Bud will play the winner of the Flora regional, either the host Wolves or the sectional host Hornets, on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. in the Nashville sectional.

Southwestern finished its season 18-11 overall.
