Sparklight Female Athletes Of The Month: Jersey Cross Country Girls Capture Alton Invite Team Title

GODFREY — Brenley Kelly and Amelia Jumper finished first and second to lead Jersey Community High School to the girls’ cross-country team title at the Alton Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, at Alton High School.

The Panthers scored 20 points to finish ahead of Chesteron Academy of St. Louis, which had 35. Several other teams had individual entries in the competition.

The Jersey cross country girls are Sparklight Female Athletes of the Month for the Panthers.

Kelly won the individual title in 19 minutes, 14.71 seconds, followed by Jumper in 20:42.21. Courtney Breden placed sixth, and Jerra Vanausdoll finished eighth, giving Jersey four runners in the top 10.

Jersey’s Trinity Cummies placed third in the girls’ junior varsity division at Alton High with a personal-best time of 28:29.
