Spencer Homes Female Athlete Of Month: Gabby Cook Provided Veteran Leadership For Edwardsville's Girls Basketball Team

EDWARDSVILLE - Gabby Cook is a senior forward for the girls basketball team at Edwardsville High, and provided senior, veteran leadership for the Tigers during the 2025-2026 campaign.

In a game against O'Fallon Feb. 6, 2026, at Lucco-Jackson Gym, Cook was one of three players who scored 11 points in Edwardsville's 53-42 loss to the Panthers.

Cook averaged over 8 points and 7 rebounds a game for the Tigers and was consistently one of the team's leading scorers game in and game out.

Cook is a Spencer Homes Female Athlete Of The Month.

The Edwardsville senior was always outstanding on defense and on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball regarding play on the boards.

Cook said in a post-game interview that she loved how the Edwardsville team members loved to share the ball.

"At the end of the day, it comes down to effort, and I think we played really well all season as a team," she said.

The Edwardsville girls' team came up short in the regional, but she believed the team put forth great overall effort all season.

"I am super proud of everyone," she said when interviewed. "I'm glad I was able to play with these types of girls."
