St. Louis Mayor Orders Youth Curfew in The Grove During Pride Weekend

ST. LOUIS - Mayor Cara Spencer on Thursday, June 18, 2026, ordered an overnight youth curfew in St. Louis’ Forest Park Southeast neighborhood for the weekend of Pride celebrations, saying the city is taking the step to help residents and visitors celebrate safely and to limit the risk of violence and unruliness seen in previous years.

Spencer signed Executive Order 97, according to the mayor’s office, imposing a curfew for juveniles from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning the evening of Saturday, June 27, and ending the morning of Monday, June 29, in the area known as The Grove.

The city also said bars in The Grove have agreed to voluntarily close their doors at midnight on Saturday, June 27, and Sunday, June 28.

To avoid dangerous situations involving vehicles, the Street Department and the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department will barricade Manchester Avenue between Boyle and Vandeventer, the mayor’s office said.

The Department of Public Safety, with support from the police department and the Office of Violence Prevention, will establish a reunification center where parents or guardians must pick up juveniles who violate the curfew. The city said multiple nonprofit organizations that work with youths will be at the center to connect juveniles with resources.

The mayor’s office said the measures were developed in collaboration with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department and local bar owners.

“Pride is such a fun and important celebration, and we don’t want anyone who’d like to join in the festivities to stay home because they don’t feel safe,” Spencer said. “I appreciate the bar owners in The Grove and the SLMPD for helping us develop this plan, and for their commitment to an inclusive and safe celebration.”
