St. Louis Regional Bomb And Arson Unit Investigates Fatal Fire

A deadly fire erupted early Sunday on Parker Road, resulting in the tragic loss of a woman inside her home. Investigators are actively examining the incident.

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO. — St. Louis Regional Bomb and Arson Unit detectives are investigating a fatal house fire that occurred early Sunday morning, Dec. 21, 2025, in the 6800 block of Parker Road. The deceased has been identified as Shardai Spates, 34, of the address of the fire.

St. Louis County Police officers from the North County Precinct responded to the fire at approximately 12 a.m. on Dec. 21, 2025.

Upon arrival, officers found the residence fully engulfed in flames. The homeowner informed officers that his wife was still inside the home. Firefighters located the woman inside the house, and paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.

Preliminary findings indicate the fire does not appear to be suspicious. The investigation remains active, and officials said additional information will be released as it becomes available.
