ROSEWOOD HEIGHTS — Homemade chicken and noodles, handcrafted gifts, and a fall market will be part of St. Paul United Methodist Church’s Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026, a fundraiser supporting the church’s community work and more than 20 missions.

The festival will run from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the church, at the corner of Airline Drive and North Center Street in Rosewood Heights. Meals will be available for dine-in or carryout, with lunch served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and supper from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

The menu includes chicken and noodles, vegetable beef soup, sloppy joes, salads, desserts and beverages, said Donna Badman, a festival organizer and church member.

“We are kind of famous for our chicken and noodles,” said Karen Martin, a longtime festival coordinator and church member.

Shoppers will find homemade baked goods, blackberry jelly, other jellies and jams, plants, floral arrangements, Christmas ornaments and fall decorations. Crafts include handcrafted jewelry pouches and quilts, including one with a matching lace-trimmed pillow.

Badman said church members work throughout the year to prepare festival crafts. Church members also handle the cooking and baking.

“Come get carry-out and do some shopping,” Badman said.

The festival and a rummage sale are the church’s two annual fundraisers. Proceeds help support more than 20 missions, including Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, school nurses and Oasis Women’s Center. Some money also supports the church.

Badman said the community focus motivates the work and draws returning visitors, including some who come from South Roxana for fudge.

Martin, president of the church’s Women of Worship group, said she has helped with the festival for 35 years. She began after her mother, who had helped with the event, became ill and could no longer participate.

Both Martin and Badman grew up in the church. Martin also raised her children there and said her ties to the congregation include many longtime friends.

“I just have wonderful memories of St. Paul and the church,” Martin said.

She said continuing the church’s work requires people willing to help.

“I want our church to continue,” Martin said. “We have to have people step up and help.”

For carry-out orders, call the church at 618-259-5210.
