Suspect Charged For Escape From Custody, Unlawful Possession, Trespassing
Donntay Wallace's bid to evade custody ended with his re-arrest and a substantial cash-only bond set by the authorities in St. Louis County.
ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO. — Donntay Wallace, 35, of the 1900 block of Craig Road in St. Louis, was charged Monday, Dec. 29, 2025, with escape or attempted escape from custody while under arrest for a felony, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and second-degree trespassing, according to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

The charges stem from an incident earlier that day when Wallace allegedly entered a backyard on the 1700 block of Shallowbrook Drive and lingered on the rear deck. Portions of the event were recorded on video surveillance. Police responded and later apprehended Wallace as he walked near Craig Road and Barkman Drive, finding suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia on his person.
While being transported to the St. Louis County Jail on Forest Park Parkway near Interstate 170, Wallace reportedly opened the front passenger door of the patrol vehicle and fled on foot. He was subsequently re-arrested near South Brentwood and Venetian Drive.
Wallace is currently held on a $100,000 cash-only bond with no 10% option. The St. Louis County Police Department Central County Precinct is conducting the investigation.
Charges are accusations, and Wallace is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
