
ALTON — Alton High’s Olivia Williams turned in a notable performance at the IHSA 3A sectional, placing fourth in the high jump with a mark of 4-11.95.

Williams’ result at the sectional adds to a season that included several strong finishes in both the high jump and triple jump.
Williams is an Eardley Agency Female Athlete of the Month for the Redbirds.
Chelsea Anderson, Alton's girls track and field coach, said Williams already has a goal for the spring of 2027: qualifying for state in the high jump. She said if she works hard, she believes she has a chance to do that.
Her best high jump of the season came at the Madison County Track and Field Championships, where she cleared 5-2.25 to take first place. She also placed third in the triple jump at the same meet on April 28, 2026, with a leap of 33-4.5.
At the 2026 Triad Lady Knight Invite, Williams posted a high jump of 5-1.75. She also finished fourth in the Southwestern Conference meet in the high jump after clearing 4-9.75.
In the Southwestern Conference meet, the versatile Williams placed fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 33-4.75. She also was part of Alton’s 4x200-meter relay team at the Lady Maroon Track and Field Invite, where the Redbirds recorded a time of 1:50.60.
