Travel Agent Shares Info About New Alton Location
Judy Rynders has served the Riverbend community as a travel agent for years. Now, she invites people to make an appointment at her new spot.

ALTON/GODFREY - Judy Rynders, a local travel agent, is excited to share more about her new space in Alton.
Rynders previously had an office in Godfrey but has now officially moved into The Wedge in downtown Alton. She reminds clients to call her at 618-717-8085 or 618-709-6109 to schedule an appointment, and she emphasized that she is always eager to help people plan the trip of a lifetime.
“It’s a job that I work 24/7,” Rynders said. “I hope people give [the new location] a try and stay in touch. We’ve always had a very good customer base. Hopefully they’ll hang in there with us and continue.”
Rynders shared that she regularly works with people to handle any snafus or problems that come up. For example, she spent a year planning a honeymoon with a local couple. When a hurricane hit Jamaica last month, she had to “scramble” to come up with a fix.
But Rynders is up to the task. She has been in this business for years, and she is passionate about helping people schedule trips that fit their needs, interests and desires.
She said they often take advantage of charter flights that fly out of St. Louis to Cancun and the Dominican Republic. She also helps a lot of people plan cruises. It’s common for her to inform folks about the possible excursions and experiences they can have, whether you schedule these on your own or work with Rynders to finalize the details.
“A lot of our people book their excursions and things that they do in destinations once they get there,” she explained. “There are some components that we recommend they schedule ahead to make sure they can get it, like swimming with the dolphins. All those spots could be filled up, and you don’t want to miss that opportunity if that was important to you.”
As a member of the Alton-Godfrey community, it was important to Rynders to join the North Alton-Godfrey Business Council. She attends every meeting and works hard to build relationships in the community.
She makes a point to support her fellow members’ businesses first whenever possible. She expressed her appreciation for the NAGBC and the work they do.
“Those people are so loyal to each others’ businesses, and I think that is a great aspect of that organization,” she said. “That's an important thing, and I appreciate the loyalty that they have as they help and support us.”
