



TROY - Roxana's Gianna Stassi was the winner of the small school race, while Emberlie Goins won the large school race on her home course as the Shells and Highland won the team championships in the girls Madison County cross country meet, held on Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 8, 2025, at Triad High School in Troy.
The Shells won the small school team title with 38 points, while Father McGivney Catholic was second with 56 points, Metro-East Lutheran had 71 points to finish third, Civic Memorial was fourth at 77 points, and Marquette Catholic finished fifth with 84 points.
Highland won the large school title with 28 points, while Edwardsville came in second at 38 points, Triad was third with 57 points, Alton had 128 points to finish fourth, Collinsville was fifth at 134 points, and Granite City came in sixth with 155 points.
Stassi took the small school race with a time of 19:47.5, while Lucy Doyle of Metro-East Lutheran was second at 20:20.9, Nova Shaw of the Shells finished third at 20:36.7, Sabrina Eccles of the Explorers came in fourth at 20:44.6, and McKenzie Jones of the Griffins rounded out the top five at 21:05.5.
Goins won the large school race with a time of 19:10.9, with Katie Fenton of Highland coming in second at 19:40.8, Virginia Siejka of Edwardsville was third at 19:54.2, Brooklyn Giffhorn of Highland came in fourth at 20:01.0, and teammate Morgan Greenwald rounded out the top five with a time of 20:20.2.
Aliyah Rehling led the Redbirds with a time of 21:14.5, while Monica Klockenkemper was in at 21:43.2, and Anna Caughran had a time of 24:13.2. To go along with Eccles, the Explorers saw Caroline Cardinal in at 21:14.7, Lillian Hannigan had a time of 25:05.0. The Eagles were led by Olivia Wiley, who was in at 21:15.2, while Lillie Wood was in at 22:12.8, and Kinley Govero had a time of 22:466.0.
Ryelan Judiscak led the Kahoks with a time of 21:32.9, while Jaylah Harris came home at 23:52.3, and Sadie Demick's time was 26:03.1. To go along with Seijka's fourth-place time, the Tigers saw Ainsley Goodwin in at 20:3.9, and Alli Merrick came home at 20:38.3. In addition to Doyle, Metro-East saw Marion Hemmer come in at 22:24.4, and Moira Krueger had a time of 23:59.0
In addition to Jones, the Griffins had Ainsley Turkington come in at 21:20.3, while Bella Redemius was home at 22:14.4. Charlee Schwaller led the Warriors with a time of 23:08.2, while Elizabeth Genis had a time of 25:08.9, and Hadley Relleke came in at 28:34.0. In addition to Stassi and Shaw, Roxana had Bailey Schallenberg-Decker coming in at 22:11.5. Going along with Goins' winning time, Triad had Abigail James in at 20:57.5, and Bradynn Carey as in at 21:12.4.
