Jack Holmes, a native of Villa Grove, served in the Naval Reserve for six years, including two years of active duty during the Vietnam War. His service took place within the Pacific Fleet, where he supported command operations for cruisers and destroyers.
Holmes’ tenure in the Naval Reserve involved contributions to the support command, a critical component of naval operations during the conflict.
