MARYVILLE, Ill. — Construction is set to begin in early November on the Firemen’s Park Entertainment Pavilion, a project nearly five years in the making aimed at enhancing community spaces in Maryville.

The Village of Maryville announced that a groundbreaking ceremony will take place at Firemen’s Park on Thursday, Nov. 13, at 3 p.m. The pavilion will serve as a focal point for community events, concerts and gatherings, providing a new venue for entertainment and recreation.

The idea originated in 2021 when Julius Zupan American Legion Post #917 made a significant donation to the village, requesting the pavilion be built in the historic park. The project has since been supported by volunteers from the Build Maryville Committee, the Parks and Recreation Committee, and numerous local businesses that have contributed time, resources and expertise.

The village also acknowledged grant funding from the Metro East Parks and Recreation District, which was instrumental in advancing the project.

Mayor Wayne White said, “This project is a testament to what can be accomplished when a community comes together. The Pavilion will provide a space for artists to entertain families and friends for generations to come.”

Construction is expected to be completed by spring 2026. The Village of Maryville plans to provide updates as key milestones are reached.
