Weekend forecast calls for fog Friday morning and warmer, humid conditions by Sunday

Patchy fog could slow Friday’s commute before a warmer, more humid weekend settles in with only slight chances for rain.

Friday starts cloudy and muggy, with patchy fog around the area in the morning that could slow the commute in spots. Temperatures begin near 69, with light southeast wind around 6 mph and gusts up to 12 mph. The fog gives way to low clouds, then a little sunshine by afternoon as the temperature climbs to a high of 81. There is a slight 25% chance of rain during the day, but most places should stay dry.

By Friday evening, skies continue to clear and it stays humid, making it feel closer to 85 during the warmest part of the day. Winds ease back and turn light. Overnight, the sky turns clear with calm conditions and a low of 67. If you are heading out late, it will be quiet weather-wise, just a little sticky.

Friday’s allergy index is elevated, mainly because of ragweed at very high levels and grass pollen at high levels. Mold and tree pollen remain low.

Saturday brings a warmer setup with a mix of sun and clouds and a high of 88 after a morning low of 66. It will feel more like 95 in the afternoon, with light north-northwest wind and just a 2% chance of rain during the day. Saturday night carries a 55% chance of a stray thunderstorm in parts of the area.

Sunday looks mostly sunny, warm and humid, with a high of 88 and a low of 65. North wind stays light, and while most of the day appears dry, there is still a 25% chance of rain. It may feel closer to 94 during the afternoon. Allergy levels stay active again, led by high ragweed and high grass pollen.
