What's Up Downtown Information Exchange To Be Held Nov. 18, 2025
Community members invited to November 18 event at The Wedge for news on downtown business growth and development projects.
ALTON - Alton Main Street’s quarterly information exchange, called “What’s Up Downtown”, will be held on Tuesday, November 18th at 5:30 p.m. at The Wedge, located at 620 E. Broadway in Alton, Illinois. The public is invited to learn the latest news regarding developments in Alton’s historic downtown district, including updates from new & existing businesses, news on real estate transactions and details of upcoming events and projects.

You’ll be in the know on topics from the evening’s featured speakers:
- Troy Taylor will share details of the American Oddities Museum’s move from Mineral Springs Mall to the Snyder building at 3rd & Piasa Streets.
- Susan Dale will speak about her business SuzyQ's Designs and Finds, a thrift shop open now at 303 Ridge St. which will be moving to 210 W. 3rd St. (formerly the Ragin Cajun Piano Bar) as soon as renovations are complete.
- Yvette Paris will introduce Riverbend Renewal, a new non-profit organization that she founded to preserve Alton’s historic homes and train the next generation of craftspeople.
- Jeff Bohnert from Elysian Gallery will share about the ArtEast Studio Tour, a food drive for the Crisis Food Center and toy drive to support Toys for Tots, and the debut of the gallery’s Song of Celestials exhibition.
Residents are encouraged to stay connected with what’s happening in the district by attending this casual forum which is free and open to the public. After the featured speakers, the floor is opened to anyone who has news to share about what’s happening with their business or organization that pertains to Downtown. Attendees will enjoy complimentary refreshments as well as networking with other downtown enthusiasts.
Attending in person is highly encouraged, but the event will be live-streamed on Riverbender.com. Video footage will be available afterwards, allowing those who are unable to be there to stay up to date on downtown developments.
