Sarah Strang Griswold Brockmanborn: May 5, 1929passed: January 26, 2017Parents: Curtis H. & Geneve Strang GriswoldChildhood raised in White Hall, ILGraduated from White Hall High School in 1947. She attended  Western Illinois University from 1947 - 1949, then attended the University of Illinois 1949 - 1951, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics. Sarah accepted a position as Home Economist for the Farm Bureau in Jersey County and moved to town in the early 1950’s. Shortly thereafter she metthe love of her life, William F. Brockman and married 1.10.1954. He proceeded her in death in 1991, Sarah is survived by her children Louis H. (Catherine) Brockman (of Jerseyville, IL), Sally Brockman (Robert) Dunnagan (of Cypress, TX), Susan Brockman (Luis, deceased) Jimenez (of Hondo, NM), Joseph L. (Janet) Brockman (of Jerseyville, IL), her brother John C. (Billye) Griswold of White Hall, IL. Grandchildren William F. Brockman, Timothy L. Brockman, Stephanie (Fernando) Camargo, Sarah Dunnagan, Luis Adan Jimenez, Juan Orion Jimenez, Sarah Xochil Jimenez, Jennifer (Matthew) Jarden, Joan (Andrew) Dahmm, Jane (Jasen) Driver. Great-Grandchildren Marcelo Camargo, Camilo Camargo, Santiago Camargo, Grant Jarden, Gavin Jarden, Claire Jarden, Charlotte Jarden, Joseph Dahmm, Sarah Dahmm and Jaxen Driver. And special friend Dr. Christi Elving.She was a Homemaker and devoted to her family, church and community; Sarah taught 4-H, created community quilts, active in education, Trustee for Friends of the Theatre, Trustee for the Jersey Community Hospital Board.Sarah was a sixty year member of the First Presbyterian Church and sang in the church choir. Additionally she enjoyed being a sixty year member of P.E.O. and sixty year member in the Daughters of the American Revolution. Sarah Brockman served on the Board of Directors for the Jersey State Bank since 1992.Visitation will be held at the First Presbyterian Church Chapel, Jerseyville, IL on Saturday 10a - 2p, service immediately following in the church sanctuary, Rev. John Beehler
Burial:  Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville
Donations made be made to the Jersey Community Hospital or First Presbyterian Church.
