Dia Venardos, age 102, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017, at United Methodist Village in Godfrey.
She was born November 9, 1914, in Alton, the daughter of John Peter and Eda (Hack) Venardos. Prior to retirement, she was employed for many years by the Metals Marketing Group of Olin Corporation. She was a lifelong member of Evangelical United Church of Christ.
She is survived by six nieces and nephews, Stephanie (Doug) Mendenhall, Fred (Mary Pat) Venardos, Monty Venardos, Marcia Venardos, Jeff (Penny) Venardos, and John (Ann) Venardos; and thirteen great-nieces and nephews; and thirteen great-great-nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Elizabeth Venardos; and two brothers, Nestor and Homer Venardos; and a nephew, Lane Venardos.
A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 10:00 am, at Evangelical United Church of Christ in Godfrey followed by a private family interment at Alton City Cemetery.
Per her wishes, she will be cremated.
Memorials may be made to Meals On Wheels or the Radio Fund, both in care of Evangelical United Church of Christ, 1212 W. Homer Adams Pkwy., Godfrey, IL 62035.
