Shirley E. Haar, 91, of Jerseyville, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2017,6:20 pm at Willow Rose Rehab and Health Care Center in Jerseyville.She was born January 20, 1926 and graduated St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing in 1947 and worked 30 years as a nurse at the former St. Joseph Hospital in Alton.She married Herbert Haar in 1947 at St. George Catholic Church in New Baden and has been a longtime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton.Survivors include a daughters: Phyllis (Terry) Meredith and Mary Jo (Don) SackmanSons: Kenneth Haar and Paul Haar and longtime friend Mary Beth and her son John Tony.9 grandchildren: Philip, Theresa, Marie, Michelle, Kari, Katie, Keith, Brian, and Chris
17 great-grandchildren: Zachary, Samantha, Audrey, Claire, Hope, Jack, Hanna, Beau,Cole, Jace, Cody, Kyle, Kelsie, Ashton, Lorali, Cullen, and Lucy.2 great-great grandchildren Harlee and Zaden.In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by a daughter and son in law: Karla and Bob Feltes and a granddaughter Monica.
