Louis Lucas

Louis J. Lucas, 97 of Edwardsville passed away Friday, October 20, 2017,9:40 pm at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.He was born June 20, 1920 in Alton and was the son of the lateJoseph W. and Bertha D. (nee: Hartmann) Lucas.He married Lillian Carter.  She preceded him in death and he later marriedLois Turner.  She also preceded him in death.He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.Prior to retirement, he was employed many years at Ford Motor Company andwas a member of VFW Alton #1308.Survivors include two sisters, Ethel R. McCoy of Wood River and Rosalie J. Lucas of Alton,Numerous nieces and nephews, other extended family and friends.He was also preceded in death by a sister Florence Rohlfing and a brother William J. Lucas.There will be no visitation and private family services will be held.Interment will be in Upper Alton Cemetery with military rites accorded bythe Ritual Team of V.F.W. Alton #1308.Louis’ family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Rosewood Care Centerin Edwardsville and Anderson Hospital in Maryville for their care and comfort they provided to him in his final months.Memorials may be made to the activity department at Rosewood Care Center in Edwardsville.Staten-Fine Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.A memorial tribute and guest book may also be found at www.staten-fine.com
