David Brown

David J. Brown, age 79, formerly of Alton, passed away Monday, April 9, 2018, at Union General hospital in Blairsville, GA.

He was born May 12, 1938, in Alton, the son of Clyde and Ruby (Tucker-Moore) Brown.He married Carlyn Dublo on September 21, 1957, in Bethalto, and she survives.David had retired from Olin Corp. where he had worked as a plastic technician. He was a member of the 1^st Baptist Church of Owensville, MO. David was an avid golfer and accomplished bowler. He enjoyed woodworking and archery. He loved working with computers and reading.In addition to his wife, Carlyn; he is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Debbie and Mike Goggins of MO, and Tracy Rice of NC; six grandchildren, Shawn Stiller, Keila Harshberger, Tyler Graham, Lauryn Graham, Kelsey Graham, and Kindall Munchgesang; four great-grandchildren, Matthew, Destiny, David, and Layla; and twin great-great-grandchildren on the way.He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Don Moore; and three daughters, Kathy Brown, and Pammy and Tammy Brown.Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 18, 2018, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton.Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 19, 2018, at 10:00 am in the funeral home chapel with Pastor David Berger officiating.Burial will take place in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.Online condolences may be made at www.eliaskallalandschaaf.com
