Gladys Magurany

Gladys Mae Magurany, 94, passed away at 8:59 a.m., Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Rosewood Care Center in Edwardsville.
  Born May 6, 1923 in Kane, she was a daughter of Clyde and Mildred (Crawford) Carr.
  Gladys married Charles Magurany. He passed away march 26, 1975.
  She was a Packer and checker at Owens Glass in Alton for several years then worked for the East Alton-Wood River High School in the cafeteria, retiring after 15 years.
  Surviving are one daughter, Sandy Magurany of Edwardsville; one son, Gerald Magurany and his wife Bonnie, of East Alton; two grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
  Gladys enjoyed sewing and was a very good seamstress.  She also had worked as a Beautician.
  Besides her husband and parents, Gladys was preceded in death by a daughter Candy Magurany; five sisters, Lucille Williams, Oleta Gray, Hazel Bryden, Opal Faye Carr, Cleora Carr; three brothers, Clyde, Leroy, and Earl Carr.
  A life celebration for Gladys will begin at 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. ,Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at Gray Funeral Home in Wood River.  Services will be at 11:00 a.m. at Gray Funeral Home with the Rev. Keith Michaels officiating.
  Burial will be at Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana.
  Memorials may be given to St. Judes Hospital.
