Nick Walters

Alton |

Nick Brian Walters of Gillespie, IL, formerly of Alton, Illinois, passed away suddenly on June 13, 2018 following organ failure. Nick was born in Alton, the third and youngest child of Mary (Mendenhall) and Glenn Walters, Jr. Nick’s interests were as wide ranging as his intellect. He was a quiet and unassumingly brilliant mad genius who studied quantum physics in his spare time and loved to read science fiction and fantasy. An irreverent culinary adventurer, he made, produced and shared hilarious cooking videos. Perhaps his greatest passion was cinematography. IMDb describes Nick as a “computer technician turned cinematographer” who found that “all genres of film presented a wonderful outlet for his sometimes unconventional problem solving skills, use of strange angles in cinematography, and an odd sense of humor.” He was active in the St. Louis Independent Movie Scene, working in roles ranging from Director of Photography to Actor to Cameraman. He is preceded in death by his loving father, Glenn Walters, Jr. and grandfathers, Glenn Walters, Sr. and Lawrence France. He is survived by his son, Brian Doyle of South Roxana, IL, his sisters, Rebecca Walters of Alton, Illinois and Jessica Kallista of Fairfax, Virginia, by his mother, Mary (Mendenhall) Walters, and by his grandmothers, Mildred (Davis) Walters of Alton, Illinois and Jacqueline (Stewart) France of Dresser, Wisconsin.

A Celebration of Life will be held on June 30, 2018 from 12 – 4pm at the home of Mildred Walters. An online tribute and guest book may be found at www.eliaskallalandschaaf.com
