Alan Howard

Alan Steven Howard, 66, died 2:53 p.m., Monday, April 25, 2016 at his residence.

Born in Taylorville on April 30, 1949, he was the son of Charles and Marjorie (Gent) Howard.

He married Carol Vancil on August 5, 1974.  She survives.

Surviving also are a son, Lance Howard of Brighton; two daughters, Stephanie Hornbeck of East Alton, Bellinda Lenon of Hartford; nine grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.  Alton VFW Post 13908 will provide military honors.

Marks Mortuary in Wood River is in charge of arrangements.
