Albert Baker

Albert S. Baker, 92, passed away 12:25 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Integrity Health Care of Wood River.

Born in Alton on December 7, 1922, he was the son of John and Cora Baker.

A World War II Army Airborne veteran, he worked as a truck driver for Clark Oil in Hartford 27 years before retiring in 1986.

He married the former Carmen Campbell who died in 2002.

Surviving are a son, Robert (JoEllen) Baker of Fieldon; daughter, Sharon Eichorn of East Alton; seven grandchildren, Mike (Missy) Nagel, Shannon (Jeff) Harley, Jason Nagel, Lisa Kochanski, Justin (Mandi) Hartsock, Tyler Hartsock, Cheri (David) Hokenson; 24 great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.

His parents; wife; and a son, Michael Baker all preceded in death.

In accordance with his wishes, his body was cremated.

Interment services and burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 25 in Woodland Hill Cemetery in East Alton.

Pastor Barbara Alley will officiate.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Disease Foundation.

Marks Mortuary in Wood River is in charge of arrangements.
